We moved to the area from the city with two young children and a third on the way. We wanted our 2 year old to attend a pre school program like her brother did when we lived in the city.
When I found BCNS I was very excited to have found a co-op — as I enjoyed the co-op program my son attended in the city. BCNS has been so fantastic for us. My daughter is excited to go to school and see her friends and teachers. I know she is loved and well looked after. And I also get to join in on the program on my co-op duty days as well. It is a huge part of the community, which I saw first hand during the Breakfast with Santa & Friends.. We feel we have made a great choice moving to the country and love that we found such a great place for our daughter to grow and prepare for Kindergarten. Our Baby will be along one day soon too and I enjoy knowing he will also get to attend BCNS with so many of the siblings my daughter attends with now as well.
Thank you for having such an amazing program and I hope another 40 plus years will be in the cards for BCNS.

Our family has great things to say about this terrific little school!
My husband attended BCNS a couple of years after it opened its doors, and both our children have attended the JK Readiness program in the last few years. Both kids have been in home daycare since they were a year old, and neither of them particularly shy, but the social aspect and the classroom type environment were still extremely beneficial.
The ratio of teachers to children is a very good balance. The number of kids in the class allowed mine to stretch their boundaries and learn to interact and share with several children in many situations, such as free play time and sitting at a big table together during snack time. The children felt included as part of the group but also plenty of time for individual attention.
They were introduced to a school-like routine where everyone participates in one activity at the same time (craft time, story time, etc). There were even a few days they stayed for lunch, learning to manage their lunch pails and food containers.
Our kids always looked forward to BCNS days, and were always bursting with news of fun things they had done when I picked them up. Wonderful crafts and hands-on discovery of nature and science were regular items in their mornings at BCNS. They also learned about numbers, letters, weather and the calendar. All of these made kindergarten seem less daunting, and more familiar and fun.
I think the best aspect of BCNS is the people. The teachers are simply amazing, caring and truly go above and beyond. The parents on the board are a positive and dedicated group.
We were happy that our kids could follow in their Dad’s footsteps and attend BCNS.

The BCNS is a wonderful program that both our children were able to be apart of (just like their Dad 30+ years ago).
Nestled into our small community, it is a great way to introduce school like routines and interactive play with other children in similar age groups.
The teaching staff are warm and welcoming to all children and parents alike.
Thank you!!!

We have been so pleased with our daughter’s experience at BCNS. She looks forward to going every week and we love hearing about the variety of stimulating activities she does there.
It is evident that she has learned a lot about structured school and many of the skills that go along with it.
Even though my husband and I work full time, we have been fortunate to participate in co-oping and incorporate the special events into our schedule. The flexibility of BCNS has helped a lot. It has been very rewarding to watch the kids on the co-op days and see how kind, supportive and fair the teachers are with them.
Thanks for everything!
